Eagle Claw Megabonk – Explained

Eagle Claw provides two effects:

1. Bonus Damage vs Airborne Enemies

When you attack an enemy that is airborne (not touching the ground), you deal bonus damage (+66%). Click here to see what damage bracket it is in

2. Launch Chance

When you hit a grounded enemy (touching the ground), Eagle Claw has a chance to launch them into the air. The official description says "8% chance," but the actual proc chance uses hyperbolic scaling, so the real in-game chance with 1 copy is approximately 13.79%, not 8%.

The proc chance formula is the following:

$$ \text{LaunchChance}(n) = \frac{0.08n}{0.08n + 0.5} $$

Where
- $ n $ = number of Eagle Claw copies

Examples:

- 1 copy → ~13.79% launch chance
- 2 copies → ~24.24% launch chance
- 3 copies → ~32.43% launch chance
- 5 copies → ~44.44% launch chance

Launch mechanics:

- Only launches enemies that are currently grounded (enemies already airborne cannot be launched again)
- When launched, enemies are knocked up and back based on your knockback stat
- Launch force = 3.5 × your knockback stat
- The launch force does not scale with more copies

How it Stacks

Eagle Claw has two scaling stats:

1. Damage Bonus vs Airborne (Linear Scaling)

Each copy adds +66% damage against airborne enemies:

$$ \text{DamageBonus}(n) = 0.66n $$

Examples:

- 1 copy → +66% damage
- 2 copies → +132% damage
- 3 copies → +198% damage
- 5 copies → +330% damage

2. Launch Chance (Hyperbolic Scaling)

The launch chance uses hyperbolic scaling:

$$ \text{LaunchChance}(n) = \frac{0.08n}{0.08n + 0.5} $$

Where $ n $ = number of Eagle Claw copies

Example table:

Copies (n)Raw Value (0.08n)Launch ChanceChance %
10.080.1379...13.79%
20.160.2424...24.24%
30.240.3243...32.43%
50.400.4444...44.44%
100.800.6153...61.54%
201.600.7619...76.19%
Note: The launch chance cannot reach 100% even with many copies, due to hyperbolic scaling. It can get very close though

3. Launch Force (Fixed)

The launch force is always 3.5 × your knockback stat. This does not scale with more copies.
