Moldy Cheese
Moldy Cheese Megabonk – Explained
Moldy Cheese gives a +40% chance to apply a single Poison stack on hit.
This deals damage every 0.5 seconds for 5 seconds (when your duration multiplier is 1.0x), If your duration as was 2.0x it would be damage every 0.5 seconds for 10 seconds.
This means that with a 1.0x duration, a single proc of poison will deal damage 10 times over the course of 5 seconds.
If you keep hitting an enemy, you can keep adding more poison stacks, which ups the amount of damage it does. The damage formula is:
When you apply a new poison stack, it refreshes the 5 second timer.

How it Stacks
Each Moldy Cheese adds +40% additive chance to apply a Poison stack.
Examples:
1 Cheese = 40% chance
2 Cheese = 80% chance
3 Cheese = 120% chance → 100% chance to apply 1 stack and another 20% to apply a second stack
5 Cheese = 200% chance → Always applies 2 stacks per hit
If the total chance exceeds 100%, you apply multiple stacks per hit. There is no maximum stack count.
Note on Proc Coefficient for Moldy Cheese
Like for most items, if the item/weapon that procs the moldy cheese has a Proc Coefficient of 1.0, it has a 40% chance to apply 1 stack of poison (with 1 copy of the Moldy Cheese). If something procs it that has a Proc Coefficient of 0.5, it has a 20% chance. This is true for all items, and also the cheese. But there is one exception for the moldy cheese specifically:
At exact integer thresholds (e.g. 100%, 200%, 400%, 600%), no roll is performed and proc coefficient does not matter. With 5 cheese a moldy cheese will always apply 2 stacks of poison, even if an item with a proc coefficient of 0.5 triggered it.
